This half term we have been learning how to play the djembe drums. Over the half term we have learnt that djembe drums originate from West Africa and were used to communicate between tribes over long distances.
To help us remember the different rhythms we have used familiar phrases and sentences like ‘eggs and bacon’ and ‘yum yum tastes like chicken’. You might have heard us singing these at home.
Next half term we will be learning how to play the samba drums. We are very excited! What do you think of our final djembe performance?
