This is the second harvest from our allotment that Year 5 have planted and grown over the year. There has been lots of strawberries which we’ve eaten once ripe. We’re just waiting for the tomatoes to ripen then it’s all hands on deck to start preparing for next year.
Some of our pupils are doing a sponsored head shave in aid of Cancer Research on Wed 24th July at Cleethorpes Cricket Club. They will be there from 5pm and the shaving will start at 6pm.
Remy came up with the idea when his mum was diagnosed with cancer back in December. Work done by Cancer Research means that the type of cancer she has is treatable and the treatment she has had during the past 6 months has so far been successful. Not everyone diagnosed is so lucky, and the charity relies on donations to continue their work towards every type of cancer being treatable.
Remy will be having his head shaved along with his friends and fellow pupils Alfie, Zach, Joe, Jack, and former pupil Alex. They would love your support on the day if you can make it to watch and cheer them on.
If you can’t make it and would like to donate they have a just giving page…
The children had an interesting session this afternoon with PC Scottie looking at the affects of drug and alcohol use on the body. They considered the rules around legal and illegal substances. After all the hard work, we had a look around his police car!
